Vani devi temple is located in Nashik city of Maharashtra. Maharashtra has three and a half shakt Peeth temples and Vani Saptashrungi is one of them and known as a half Shakti Peeth temple of Maharashtra. Because of the seven peaks around Vani devi mandir Saptashrungi mata is known as the “Mother of the seven peaks”. Saptashrungi devi has many names like Saptashringi, Saptashrungi, Brahmavarupini, Mahishasurmardini, Vani devi, etc.

To kill the demon Mahishasura Goddess gifted with 18 weapons. 8 feet (2.44 m) tall idol Goddess Saptashrungi stands by holding 18 weapons in her hands. 8 feet tall idol of Saptashrungi needs 10.5 meters saree to wear and 3-meter cloth for the blouse.
Vani Devi's idol is completely covered with an orange Sindoor. In the recent conversion work of Saptashrungi devi temple 2000 kg of sindoor was removed from the goddess idol. By Umbabaie Dabhade 500 steps are built for devotees to reach the temple height of 4600 ft (1.4 km).
Navratri and Chaitra utsav At Vani Saptashrungi Devi Temple :
The biggest festival of Vani devi temple is Navratri and Chaitra Utsav. On Navratri Utsav thousands of devotees come from all over India to worship Saptashringi devi.
Chaitra Utsav celebrates in the month of April.
Every month Purnima and Tuesday, and Friday are considered holy days to worship any Goddess.
In Front of the Saptashrungi Devi Temple peak Rishi Markandeya peak is located. Rishi Markadeya wrote 700 hymns for Goddess on that peak, which is why this place is known by his name. It is said that Vani Saptashrungi devi’s idol slightly leaning towards left to listen to Rishi Markadeya’s hymns.
